The two metal pieces will not stay in the crotch buckle. Slightest pull and they pop right out. Is it a defective product? It was a gift from out of state and the sender has since passed so I do not have a receipt for it. What can I do?

Original review: Aug. 14, 2015I bought a Disney Baby Apt 40RF Convertible Car Seat and I am having trouble getting the lap belt to release. If there were an emergency I'm afraid I couldn't get it undone. Is anyone else having issues with this buckle? Is there a recall for it?

Original review: July 21, 2015I had purchased the Cosco sprinter infant travel and from day one it has been a pain in the butt. Never mind having to go out and buy a different car seat for in the car after using it with my son for 3 weeks because it doesn't fully click into the base and is very unsafe for car rides. God forbid I got into an accident, that car seat would fly out, but the stroller itself is a pain to open. The handle is placed in a weird spot to open it and is always a hassle, but yesterday when I went to unlock it my finger got smashed in between the bars and now my finger nail is a nice purple bruise underneath.
This is not the first time I have gotten hurt with this stroller and since I see it not being the last I will now have to go buy another stroller. To pay 170$ plus shipping so 203$ for a travel system that I could only use the car seat for 3 weeks (which thank God I noticed you could still pull up the seat out of the base even if you heard a 'click' noise before anything happened to my son) and a stroller for 9 weeks before having to go buy a whole new system is absolutely ridiculous. And there should be something done to fix both problems before a child or anyone else gets hurt.
I sent them an email about it 2 weeks ago. Got an answer asking for the model numbers, and no response after I sent it to them. Today I used the stroller again and it got my finger so hard that I believe I broke the tip of my finger. It is so swollen and black and blue. I can't even move it. This product is going to hurt somebody. Thank God it was my finger and not my 2 year old's that was right next to me. It needs to be recalled.

Original review: Sept. 23, 2010I bought a Cosco car seat and stroller travel package and only used it a few times. And yesterday, I used it because my son was sleeping and he woke up and my mama picked him up and right after that it collapsed in the store. And I picked it up and got it standing again and put him back in it. It was fine. We got to the car and I went to move it backwards to pick my son up and it collapsed again and my son was in it. Thank God, he was okay but they seriously need to test these things better because that's our children and mainly infants that were trusting in their products in putting out a good product. And the car seat that come with the stroller had a recall a few months ago.

Original review: April 14, 2010I purchased the Cosco Seneca car seat 22-120-WAL, L#15B121042. I first emailed them requesting a new cup-holder since the one that we had, was broken. They alerted me that my son's seat was included in a recall for the harness and promptly sent me a new one and charged me for the cup holder. The cup-holder broke the first day. We've used the replacement belt with the seat for the last 8months or so and the harness just started loosening on its own.
I went to pull the strap tight and then pulled on each belt at his shoulders and it pulled completely out. I repeated this several times and made sure that the belt had locked into place, it still came out. I pulled the top of the harness to simulate me slamming on the brakes and it pulled right out! My 3yr old child could have been ejected from my car. I couldn't believe that I had been driving around like that unknowingly! How many other parents don't know this about their Cosco car seat! I've just sent them another email and purchased another car seat. I hope that they will look further into this situation. We will not use this seat again. No damage, I caught this soon enough, thank God!

Original review: Feb. 6, 2009I am having no luck with help solving this problem that happened twice now... This is my story.... I have an Infant car seat, the Cosco Scenera Convertible Car Seat - Sandy Hill is the exact name of the
car seat i have. where the harness strap goes onto the yoke(i believe thats the name for the metal thing on the back). The straps came off of my childs seat there twice and we did not even loosen them or nothing. I saw other car seats that have new rubber caps for the car seats that go on the yoke that keeps the straps secure. This should be done for your carseats also..

Original review: Aug. 30, 2008 We got a stroller car seat combo as a present when my son was born. It worked great for a month or two. At first I noticed the straps were becoming loose frequently, but I would adjust them and think nothing more of it. However, when the problem continued and gradually got worse I realized there was a serious problem.
We finally had to go out and buy another car seat after I went to get him out a few times and the straps were completely loosened from there holders and laying in the seat. My son enjoyed the extra freedom from the straps, but I shudder to think what could have happened if we had been involved in an accident during one of these incidents. My husband and I will never buy another cosco product.

The above carseats have large elastic loops that attach the fabric cover to the seat. These loops are located by the child's head when seated. My three year old son pulled one loop over his head and had it wrapped tightly around his neck. I was so lucky that I caught it fast enough that all I found is a panicked toddler.
I have been contacting Cosco and receiving no help- their company even claims to have a repair kit, but I haven't been able to get one of those either. At this point, I just want new carseats, but they refuse to recall them. I have talked to two other people whose children have become tangled in the elastic loops.
Thankfully, I caught it fast enough, so my son was just scared- not injured.

Original review: Oct. 1, 2007Seriously, I cut the palm of my right hand moving the Costco car seat (model 22123-bvl), moving from one auto to another. The seat has two sharp, pointy (duh!) plastic retainers on the bottom. It's very dangerous! I cannot work today due to a deep cut in my right hand.

Original review: May 27, 2007I have a Touriva car seat, and the seat pad kept on having issues coming undone. While driving one day, my son started crying. I checked to see what was wrong, and he had the elastic strap around his neck from the seat coming undone. We after then made sure and put a lot of Velcro in the most vulnerable places. To top it all off, the other day, he was in his car seat and I heard a pop. The bar that goes across in front had popped out of the hole where it is held, and it is completely broken now, not to mention unsafe.

Original review: April 13, 2007We bought a 3-in-1 car seat/stroller system before our new baby arrived in February of this year. As first time parents, we weren't too sure what to look for in a car seat...but we do now! We just despise our Eddie Bauer car seat made by Cosco, and we wished that we could give it back...if only we hadn't spent $500.00 on it already.
The designer of this seat has obviously not used it and he/she couldn't possibly be a parent! The front buckle is impossible to clip and the car seat itself weighs a ton (before loading baby in). Every time I use this seat, I curse Eddie Bauer/Cosco for the pain and hassle they are putting me through. I just hope that it is safe and after reading some of the other comments, I have my doubts. It's too bad that a person finds out their seat isn't safe until after a tragic circumstance occurs.
We realized how horrible this Eddie Bauer car seat was when a friend loaned us a Graco car seat for our second vehicle. What a treat it was to use! The unfortunate part is that our stroller is not compatible with this Graco seat. We thought that we were going with a reputable company and the cost of the product was comparable to other similar products. Buyer beware… Steer clear of this company/manufacturer when looking for and purchasing a car seat or combination product!

Original review: March 23, 2007I have dealt with this company twice with no avail my son choked twice on his car seat. I bought him a Cosco Touriva overhead car seat that pulls down and locks at the crotch well the seat pad started pulling from the sides and he pulled them around his neck twice once I couldn’t get them off and if I cut them the seat is no good. I want a replacement seat.

Original review: March 17, 2007We received a Cosco car seat as a gift from a relative for my son, we have put it in my mom's car, and have had nothing but problems with it. The latch part that goes between my son's legs is extremely hard to buckle into the shoulder harnesses, I LITERALLY have to stand and push down with all my might on each buckle to get them to snap in!!! There is hardly any padding to protect his head should we be in a crash, and it WILL NOT stay secure (it wobbles from side to side tremendously - so much so, I have to sit in the back seat with him to hold it steady!!).

Original review: Sept. 1, 2006I wish i would have read this site before i bought my daughter hers in 2004. The car seat was great in price and fit her well and easy to latch and unlatch. even for my mom with bad arthritis in her hands. I was plased with it, that is until the day we were on the way to the zoo and got in a side impact car accident. The carseat held up but did not have enough padding to protect my little girl;14 months of age.
She died 3 days later in a coma (in and out of cardiac arrest I might add) of brain injuries because the padding in the headrest wasn't to standard.we are presently in a multimilion dollar lawsuit with the company. I have a son now who will be 1 next week, and i can't tell you how scared i am to take him out of his infant carrier.

Original review: April 7, 2006I brought a Eddie Bauer car seat made by Cosco back in March of 05. I paid about 169.00.By the time my son was 16 mths old he was able to figure out how to undo the chest harness. All you have to do is push the button in the middle of the harness and it easily comes a part. This is very dangerous when driving. So I called Cosco to see if there was another type of chest harness available that was compatible with the car seat. The customer service person I spoke with told me there was not another harness available. So I ask that if she had any recommendation of placing something over the harness to prevent my son from opening the harness.
I am very displeased with the lack of service and the lack of concern that the customer service person had over my complaint. I know if my child is able to open the harness I am sure there are other children that can do the same. I recommend that Cosco change there chest harness to it make them a little harder to open, so a toddler can open them so easily. I usually pull over and reattach the harness but sometimes you are not able to do that.

Original review: April 6, 2006My aunt purchased a Cosco stroller / carrier combination for my newborn. The carrier is also approved to be used as a carseat upto 20 or so pounds. I noticed that once my baby was old enough to start moving her arms around that the shoulder straps would come completely loose. Once I started looking at the back of the seat where the straps are secured I noticed that the only thing securing the straps was a metal piece on each strap. The straps are in no way secured to the seat to keep them from coming loose.
If a 2 month old infant could pull the straps out so easily there is no way that the straps could secure the child on impact. I started reading the warnings labled on the seat and they state that the seat meets all federal requirements, but I believe that this carrier needs to be recalled and pulled of the shelves before a child is seriously injured or even killed.
In addition, the carrier comes with a base that can be anchored in the car and the carrier snaps into it instead of having to buckle the carrier in every time. The first time I used that base I went to get my baby, at that time only a few weeks old, out of the car and was shocked to see that she was completely slumped over her neck in a very compromising position. The base is too elevated and causes the seat to sit almost straight up and in the result the baby slips dangerously forward.
Once I discovered the problem with the seat I immediately went out and bought another carseat that had secure straps and anchors. Luckily I noticed the problem before my child had the chance to become injured.

Original review: Sept. 21, 2005I received the Spirit Travel System by Cosco at my baby shower. The shoulder straps on the carseat part of it wont stay tightened down. They always come out, and my 5-month-old son has nothing holding him in. Because of this, he turns around in his seat, and I'm afraid of him falling out. Also, he wouldn't be safe if we got into an auto accident.

Original review: Aug. 6, 2005We purchased a Cosco 'Regal Ride' Car Seat for our son. We had used this car seat for just over a year. The other day, we were driving down the street and heard a horrific bang and thought that maybe someone had thrown a rock at our car. Needless to say, when we got home (10 miles down the road later), we found that our son's well over $100 car seat had the left hand arm cracked at the attaching point to the seat itself and popped out while we were driving down the road! This not only shocked us, but we have vowed to never buy another car seat without a good recommendation, or guarantee from the manufacturer that they stand behind their 'safety' products.

Original review: July 29, 2005We bought our newborn baby an Eddie Bauer Travel System with the car seat and stroller. After using the car seat for just a couple of months, we noticed that the straps would come loose and at times after we would buckle him in, we would notice that the strap was totally loose and laying on his shoulder. It would come loose in the back of the seat. We contacted Target where we got the seat and they said that they would just exchange our car seat. The new one did the exact same thing. If we didn't check that the strap was well into the buckle on the back of the seat, it would come loose about every 4th-5th time of putting my son into the car seat. If we would have been in an accident or even had to brake hard, my son wasn't even strapped in and could have been seriously hurt. We have tried to contact Eddie Bauer. They referred us to Cosco. At Cosco, we kept getting the runaround and never got a straight answer about what we were to do. We are worried about the straps coming loose every time we drove in the car. We constantly had to check them to make sure that they were secure and had plenty of strap through the buckle.

Original review: July 9, 2005As is probably typical with any new parent, I spent a great deal of time agonizing over the best choice of car seat for my child. I purchased a Cosco Alpha Omega. I went with a company that is reputed to be synonymous with quality, comfort and safety. My child was born in the winter so it wasn't till the summer that I realized the problem (a major problem). Under the safety arm that comes down in front of the child is plain thick plastic. It has no covering whatsoever. When I put my child in, there are several exposed parts of plastic so that when it is hot outside, my child's car seat becomes, at the very least, extremely dangerous, something like a torture chair.
I cannot get any response from the company to deal with this safety issue. I recently was in Sears where I purchased this product of Cosco's. By the way, I have warned Sears of this safety issue and they have not yet taken these from the shelves. While I was in the store, other unsuspecting concerned parents were trying to also purchase their yet unborn child the best car seat that they could. Alas, they were just about to purchase the same instrument of death that I had. I was quick to intervene so maybe unsuspecting parents and poor child wouldn't have to find out the same way my baby & I did.

Original review: April 18, 2005I bought a toddler car seat for my 1-1/2 yr old son and the metal buckle sticks and sometimes I am unable to take him out of the car seat. This is a real safety concern for me because if I were to get into an accident and someone needed to get him out fast, I would be unable to. Thank you.

Original review: Oct. 25, 2004I purchased my car seat for my now 2-year old son about a year ago. We went to dinner on Saturday night. My son was in the backseat with my brother-in-law who fastened him in. As we were driving down the street, the arm (where it is attached into the car seat) popped out on the left side. Luckily, we were right down the street from my home and my brother-n-law was in the backseat and able to hold the arm in place until we got here. My husband is military and, right now, is in Iraq so I spend a lot of time driving to see my family who are about an hour away and with just myself and my 2-year old. I don't know what I would have done had this happened and we were alone in the car or God forbid we were in an accident! If there is anything you can do, I would greatly appreciate it. He wasn't harmed. It was just shocking that it happened. Thank you so much!

Original review: June 23, 2004At the end of 2003, I had to buy my daughter a new car seat due to her hitting a growth spurt sooner than we figured. Well, I went into Target and was looking at their car seats when I spotted a car seat that was in my price range (I think it was $50). Well, after a few months, the straps started to break off so now the car seat cover won't stay on. Now, after washing the entire thing down (straps, cover and buckles), the main buckle won't clasp the 5-pt. harness. There is a piece inside that is stuck. So my daughter can't use it because it won't allow me to buckle her in.

Original review: May 9, 2004I recently purchased a Cosco Eddie Bauer Car Seat/Booster Seat, model# 22-859-HML manufactured 11/20/02. I purchased it at Target. I have had it for about 7 months now and about 3 months ago the 5-point safety latch started sticking and recently, every time I strapped my daughter in, I had to literally push the red button down manually to latch it in. Last Friday, I was driving down the sreet and I had to brake suddenly and my daughter said the seat felt loose. I pulled over and, sure enough, the latch had disengaged. If I had been involved in an accident, she could have been seriously hurt. I feel that, after 7 months of occasional use, this should not have happened. I would like to have this replaced, but I cannot seem to reach the right person to speak to about it.
